This project was a design execise that is inspired by the stealth technology used in today's military.
Private ResidenceAt the time this was done, I was recovering from back surgery and had many discussions with my back surgeon about the spine. I decided to use the spine as an organizing element in this condominium project. This building is organized along a central spine that is bent at each disc, with each residence unit occupying the vertabrae.

I am very concerned with how the residential architecture of today has stagnated, with very little evolution since the 70's. Our homes are little more than cartoonic images designed with little thought, and even less imagination. Design and aesthetics are pretty low on the priority list when it comes to residential architecture. This project, in fact all of these projects, is a response to the lack of inspiration, creativity and evolution of design in the residential market of today.

This project is another design exercise that is a response to some of my frustrations with the typical suburban layout. The idea is to have shared drives that have alternating entry’s from parallel streets. Put the garage towards the interior of the lot to create more of a village concept, not only within each 3 house complex, but the entire subdivision as well.

This project was design exercise where I asked my 3 year old daughter to draw three lines on a sheet of paper, and then I challenged myself to turn those three lines into an architectural studio. This was a fun and most challenging exercise!
Lazarus Architectural StudioThis design was an exercise in which I re-imagined a previously un-built project through the eys of automobile designer. If only our houses had the creative inspiration of some of our automobiles today.....!
